After more than two years break, this long-awaited "The CBR Checklist of Birds of China v4.0" was published online on 13 March, 2016.

As former versions, this checklist was also based on the well known "IOC World Bird List". 1458 species has been listed in this latest CBR

Checklist, which made it became the most comprehensive summary of birds in China.
